Wherever You Go — trivago
trivago teamed up with Chelsea FC as the club’s official training kit sponsor to connect with football fans around the world. To launch, we wanted to create an anthem that was rooted in travel, got Chelsea fans excited, but was also inclusive—something all football fans could feel and understand.
With our brand strategy team, we created “Wherever You Go” platform. It’s about supporting Chelsea FC, its fans, and football lovers of all stripes on their journeys through the game, whether you’re traveling the world to follow your club or riding the rollercoaster of emotions on matchday.
The partnership was supported on-site at Stamford Bridge with custom matchday program covers, pamphlets that led to a broader content experience on trivago’s online magazine, and signage in and around the stadium.
Online, our partnership landing page told fans what they could expect and should stay tuned for during the course of the season.
One of the pillars of our partnership was curating and giving away once-in-a-lifetime experiences to Chelsea fans — both in London and around the world.
On YouTube we sponsored behind-the-scenes videos for training sessions, matchdays, and “On the Road” videos following players on team travel days.
During Chelsea’s preseason in the US, we brought fans from all over the world to join the club on tour. While they got to go behind-the-scenes and experience what it’s like to travel with the team, we also took the opportunity to work with the players to prank these “lucky” fans.
