Chicago Cubs 2018 All-Star Campaign
We had already launched the “Everybody In” tagline for the Cubs 2018 season, and when the All-Star voting period came along, we needed a way to rally Cubs fans to vote for the hometown boys to go to the game.
“Everybody In” was about everyone around the team pulling towards a goal together, so we showed how the even people on the team who were ineligible to be voted to the All-Star Game (relief pitchers) were still trying to help their teammates get there. We used the game’s location, Washington DC, as a big source of inspiration.
We loaded up our campaign with typical political campaign imagery and tchotchkes.
We wrote radio spots for our candidates that spoofed the smarmy political radio that pollutes the airways during election season. The Cubs liked them so much, they wanted video versions for Social Media. Obviously, we had to oblige with equally cheesy visuals.
During the final homestand before the end of the ASG voting period, we set up voting booths outside Wrigley Field to give our candidates a final push - a true embodiment of the mantra "Everybody In."
